Usman vs. Masvidal 2 headlines triple championship card at UFC 261

The much-anticipated rematch between UFC welterweight world champion Kamaru Usman and fan favorite Jorge Masvidal is set to grace the main event of UFC 261 as live audience returns on April 24 at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

The pair have fought at UFC 251 in July 2020 after Masvidal stepped in as a late replacement after Usman’s original foe Gilbert Burns tested positive for COVID-19. The fight went the distance and ended via unanimous decision in favor of the champion.

In the co-main event, UFC women’s flyweight world champion Valentina Shevchenko will make the fifth defense of her title against former strawweight champion and number one contender Jessica Andrade.

UFC women’s strawweight world champion Zhang Weili of China will also feature on the same card when she defends the title against Rose Namajunas in a five, five-minute round contest. -- BAP, GMA News
