Alex Eala climbs 140 spots in WTA rankings, now at world no. 763

Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala is now among the top 800 female tennis players of the world.

In the latest rankings released by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) on Monday, Eala is now at no. 763, 140 spots ahead of her previous rank at no. 903.

The ranking was released less than two weeks after Eala ended her W25 Grenoble campaign with a quarterfinals appearance.

Prior to Grenoble, Eala bagged her first professional title in the first leg of the Manacor tournament last January. The 15-year-old also finished the next two legs with quarterfinal stints.

Eala is currently at no. 3 in the ITF junior girls rankings.

Last year, she bagged the Australian Open Juniors doubles title and reached the singles semifinals in the French Open Juniors.
