Filipina golfer Bianca Pagdanganan aims for gold in Tokyo Olympics

Bianca Pagdanganan is one of the Filipino athletes aiming to bring home the country's first ever gold medal at the Olympics.

The Filipina golfer might just get a shot at it after impressing in her rookie season at the 2020 LPGA Tour.

According to Chino Trinidad's report on "24 Oras," the 23-year-old has been getting rave reviews in her sport.

"It's nice when a lot of people believe in you," Bianca said. "At the end of the day all of those don't really matter unless you actually believe in yourself."

Bianca has attracted attention after climbing to the top of the driving distance leaderboard at the 2020 LPGA Tour.

She admitted, however, that she didn't see her potential to be a top athlete at the beginning.

"It took me a while to realize that I had the game in me or like I had what it takes," she said.

Pagdanganan won a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in the team event and a bronze medal in the women's individual.

She also won two gold medals at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held on home soil.
