Omega succumbs to Alter Ego, ties for 5th-6th at MLBB World Championship
MPL PH Season 6 runner-up Smart Omega Esports settled for a tie for 5th-6th finish after failing to overcome Alter Ego Esports in the lower bracket semi-finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M2 World Championship.
Although Alter Ego seemed to be coming out on top during the first 8 minutes of Game 1, it was virtually at a standstill until clutch after clutch outplays in the midlane by LeoMurphy (Silvanna) and YAM (Harith) during the 11th minute.
AE proceeded with a take of the luminous lord in the 13th minute that effectively secured their opening win.
YAM, who has been criticized by fans during the group stages for his lackluster performances, seemed to have resurrected in the playoffs with another stellar play finishing with a perfect 8-0-6 KDA.
The reigning MPLI Champs then made quickwork of the Filipinos in Game 2 as Omega failed to recover from their slump since dropping a close Game 1 loss to RRQ Hoshi in the upper bracket.
The Indonesian squad was already ahead 9-1 in the kill tally as early as the 6th minute with a 4k gold lead.
Omega could not rise up from the hole as they suffered a defeat after just 13 minutes with a 18-5 kill tally in favor of the Indonesians. – RC, GMA News
