“I am feeling ok and have mild symptoms. I will remain in isolation in my home in Monaco in compliance with regulations set by the local health authorities. Stay safe and take care,” he said.
Formula 1 just completed its 2020 season last December, with Sir Lewis Hamilton securing his seventh Driver’s championship.
Charles Leclerc, who has won two Grand Prix with Ferrari since his track debut in 2018, is the fifth F1 driver to have contracted the virus.
Drivers who tested positive for the disease include Mercedes’ Hamilton, who was knighted in December after being named the most successful driver of all time; Racing Point’s Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll; and McLaren’s Lando Norris. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
