Eduard Folayang bows to Antonio Caruso at ONE: Inside the Matrix

Antonio Caruso just scored the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career following a unanimous decision nod over Eduard Folayang this Friday on the undercard of ONE: Inside the Matrix at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Caruso went to close the gap and pinned Folayang to the side of the cage in the early going of the contest. The Australian was able to take the Filipino to the mat where he attempted a choke but was unable to get a tap.

Caruso dropped the former ONE lightweight world champion with a right hand in round two to which the Baguio City native responded by throwing bombs but started to lose steam.

Both fighters were breathing heavily in the final round. Folayang started to land his leg kicks but his momentum was temporarily halted after Caruso took an accidental low blow. Both fighters poured everything they got until the final bell then went to the scorecards after 15 minutes of action.

All three judges saw the fight for Caruso after three rounds, improving his record to 8-1 while Folayang suffered the fourth defeat in his last five fights as he fell to 22-10. – RC, GMA News
