Anderson Silva confirms retirement after next fight
Former UFC middleweight world champion Anderson Silva is hanging up his gloves after his next appearance inside the cage against Uriah Hall.
The pair is slated to headline UFC Fight Night: Hall vs. Silva on October 31 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, United States.
The 45-year-old Silva, touted by many as the greatest of all time in mixed martial arts, has gone 1-6-1 in his last eight fights.
"For sure this is the last fight," Silva told MMA Junkie. "I love the sport. I've prepared my mind for this. I've prepared for fight my entire life, but yes, this is my last fight in UFC."
Silva had the most dominant run as a world champion during his heydays in UFC as he holds the longest title run in the organization at 2,457 days.
He said he will miss preparing his mind and his body once he walks away from the sport.
"This I think is most important and I feel sad because I don't have this anymore. This is the last one," he said. —MGP, GMA News
