Dana White expresses interest in making Israel Adesanya vs Jon Jones a reality

UFC president Dana White is ready to turn the Israel Adesanya versus Jon Jones dream match into reality.

The rift between the UFC middleweight world champion and the former UFC light heavyweight world champion flared anew following Adesanya’s second successful defense of his title over Paulo Costa at UFC 253.

The two have been going back and forth trashing each other on social media. And instead of fighting on the internet, White says they would be better off fighting inside the octagon.

“That's the fight to make one hundred percent,” said White, when asked about a fight between Adesanya and Jones. “I think that a fight between those two is massive.”

Jones vacated the UFC light heavyweight title in August as he seeks a new challenge in the heavyweight division.

Adesanya would also have to jump up in weight class to turn the prospective showdown into reality as he currently fights in the 185-pound division.

Whether the fight comes to fruition or not all depends on the fighters according to White.

“It doesn’t depend on what I want it depends on what they want to do,” White stated.

“Adesanya is the champ he’s really coming into his own you can tell. He knows this is his house and he comes in and acts like it. I think he wants the winner of Whittaker and Cannonier, and then we’ll see what happens after that.” – JM Siasat/RC, GMA News
