Alex Eala seeded no. 2 in French Open Juniors

Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala has been seeded no. 2 in the 2020 French Open Juniors.

The 15-year-old is vying for a second trophy in the Grand Slams after winning the Australian Open doubles title with Indonesian partner Priska Madelyn Nugroho earlier this year.

Eala will also compete in doubles, partnering with Elvina Kalieva of the United States. The pair previously played together in the 2019 US Open.

In March, the juniors world no. 4 made her professional debut at the W15 Monastir Tournament in Tunisia. She picked up a win in the first round but fell short of advancing to the quarterfinals.

Eala attends the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain together with her brother Miko. —MGP, GMA News
