Johnriel Casimero retains world title with third round demolition of Duke Micah
Johnriel Casimero needed just three rounds to retain his WBO world bantamweight world title following his third-round demolition of the previously unbeaten Duke Micah this Sunday at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, USA.
Casimero, 31, went on the offensive right from the opening bell as he threw bombs at his game but outclassed opponent. A left hook followed by a looping right on top dropped Micah in round two but he somehow managed to survive.
The Ormoc City native landed a series of hard shots the following round that once again badly hurt the Ghanaian. The referee had seen enough by then prompting to wave the contest at the 0:54 mark of round three.
Casimero called out the WBA and IBF world bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue after the bout. He improved his record to 30-4 with 21 knockouts while Micah fell to 24-1 with 19 knockouts. — LA, GMA News
