Ex-UFC champ Tyron Woodley plans to keep fighting after three consecutive defeats
Tyron Woodley will continue to fight following his latest setback this past weekend at UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Woodley at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
The 38-year-old former UFC welterweight world champion suffered his third straight defeat at the hands of Colby Covington by way of fifth-round technical knockout after he injured his rib in the fifth round.
Covington dominated from start to finish which led UFC president Dana White to state that the ex-champ may have to contemplate retirement — but Woodley believes his career is far from over.
“I’m not retiring, I’m not giving it up. I’m not switching all my coaches up. I’m not changing the continent I live on. I’m not doing all that,” he said on social media.
Woodley felt he was well prepared going into the fight with Covington and even worked with fan-favorite Jorge Masvidal in training camp. For Woodley, things simply did not fall into place that fateful evening.
“Some sh*t didn’t happen and guess what? I don’t know why it didn’t happen. I did everything to make it happen. Now we just take a deep breath and see what’s next.” — LA, GMA News
