Teenage martial arts prodigy Victoria Lee signs with ONE Championship

ONE Championship has signed teenage martial arts prodigy Victoria Lee, the sister of ONE women’s atomweight world champion Angela Lee and ONE lightweight world champion Christian Lee.

The 16-year-old has racked up wins across various competitions including the 2019 IMMAF junior world championship, two Pankration junior world championships, and the 2019 Hawaii state wrestling championship.

"I feel extremely excited and motivated to be part of the world's largest martial arts organization, ONE Championship," Victoria said.

"Inspired by watching my older brother and sister compete on the biggest global stage of martial arts competition, I am ready to take my career to the next level and compete with the world's best martial arts athletes," she added.

Some fans were quick to express their doubts and said that Victoria is too green for the big stage, but Angela said that her young sister is already better than her at that age.

"Victoria is a gifted athlete and everyone will be witness to that when she makes her debut. The transitions are seamless, there are no gaps. She is still learning and improving each day," said Angela.

Asia's top MMA promotion is yet to announce the date and venue for Victoria's professional debut.

"I promise all the fans that I will continue to train hard and develop my skills, and that I'll be ready when I get the call to step inside the ONE Circle," she said. —MGP, GMA News
