UFC open to make mega fight between Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar

The UFC welcomes the idea of making a mega fight between former UFC light heavyweight world champion Jon Jones and former UFC heavyweight world champion Brock Lesnar.

Reports came out earlier this week that Lesnar’s contract with the WWE has ended making him a free agent. While Lesnar is yet to announce his next move, fans are crossing their fingers that they would get to see him once more inside the octagon.

Jones, meanwhile, is eyeing a move to the heavyweight division. As he stated his case why he should fight for the UFC heavyweight world title next currently held by Stipe Miocic, Jones also took a swipe at Lesnar on his social media.

“Stipe versus Francis is high risk low reward. Stipe versus myself actually makes a lot of sense for both of us. Now you actually have a super fight. Stipe loses the fight is gone,” Jones wrote on Twitter.

“Brock I’ll beatcho a** too,” he said on his next tweet.

In the post-fight press conference of Dana White’s Contender Series 31, the UFC president was asked if Jones versus Lesnar was a fight he is willing to make. He says he is yet to hear from Lesnar but stated that the company would take him back if he wants to fight.

“I haven’t talked to Brock in probably a year. He’s 43 years old he’s got a lot of money so I don’t know what his plans are or how his body feels,” said White.

“If [Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar] they both want to fight each other, I’m sure it’s a fight the fans want to see and it would be a good introduction for Jones into the heavyweight division. So if they wanted to do it, I would do it.”

More importantly, White said that he is yet to confirm if Lesnar is indeed a free agent now. – JM Siasat/RC, GMA News
