UFC fighter Pedro Munhoz tests positive for COVID-19

The positive COVID-19 test results just keep pouring in for the UFC.

This time around, it was Brazilian bantamweight fighter Pedro Munhoz who yielded a positive result for the virus ahead of his showdown with former UFC lightweight world champion Frankie Edgar.

The pair was scheduled to share the cage on July 15 at Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. As protocol dictates, Munhoz was immediately pulled out of the contest.

“Sorry to hear you had a positive test @PedroMunhozmma wish you a speedy recovery let know as soon as you’re ready to scrap, I’ll be waiting,” Edgar wrote on his Twitter.

According to a report by ESPN, the world’s premier MMA organization is currently searching for a late replacement for Edgar though it remains to be seen if he is willing to remain on the card. – RC, GMA News
