Samboy Lim's daughter Jamie bags gold in karatedo

The daughter of PBA legend Samboy Lim bagged a gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games karatedo competition on Monday at the World Trade Center.

Jamie Lim dominated Indonesia's Zeyco Sefanya in the women's -61kg kumite final, 2-1, for the gold.

Aside from excelling in karate, Jamie also shines in academics. The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics major graduated summa cum laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Karatedo also added three more bronze medals today.

Sharief Afif and Ivan Christopher Agustin bagged the bronze in the men's +75kg and  -75kg categories, respectively. In the men's team kata, the team of Adam Bondoc, Mark Andrew Manantan, and John Vasquez also finished with a bronze medal. —MGP, GMA News
