Cea, Morrison grab 2 more golds in taekwondo

Gold medals continue to pour in from Filipino taekwondo jins at the Southeast Asian Games on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Dave Cea reigned supreme in the men's under 74kg finals, defeating Nutthawee Klompong of Thailand 10-5 in the gold medal match.

Earlier, Pauline Lopez won the gold in the women's under 57 kg category.

In the men's under 80-kg, Samuel Morrison overwhelmed Malaysia's Joshua Abdullah, 30-8, to bag the gold.

The taekwondo team also bagged a number of silver medals on Sunday.

Leila Delo finished the women's under 67 kg finals with a silver medal as she fell short against Vietnam's Bac Thi Khiem.

Cambodia's Sorn Seavmey edged Kirstie Alora, 12-9, in the women's over 73kg category, while Thailand's Tantramart Nattapat Nattapat defeated Kristopher Robert Uy in the men's over 87kg finals.

Thailand's Hauihongthong Lakchai eclipsed Arven Alcantara in the men's under 68kg finals to hand the Philippines the silver medal.
