Sibol advances to upper bracket finals in Dota 2, bows out in Arena of Valor
The Philippine national esports team Sibol advanced to the upper bracket finals in Dota 2, while the team playing Arena of Valor bowed out of contention at the qualifiers held Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The team of James Guerra, Van Jerico Manalaysay, John Anthony Vargas, Bryle Alvizo, and Marvin Rushton swept two out of their three games in the Dota 2 qualifiers. They defeated the delegation from Laos in the morning, 2 games to nothing, and repeated it against Indonesia in their second match. However, they were challenged by Myanmar in their first game, but they bounced back to end with a draw, 1-1.

They will face Vietnam in the upper bracket finals slated Sunday.
However, the Arena of Valor team composed of Miguel Banaag, Jeremiah Camarillo, Kevin Dizon, Lawrence Gaitmaitan, and Bradie Velasquez, bowed out of contention as they lost two of their three games in the qualifiers.
