Daniela Dela Pisa scores PHL's first gold in rhythmic gymnastics

Daniela Dela Pisa clinched the Philippines' first gold medal in rhythmic gymnastics at the Southeast Asian Games on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

She ruled the women's hoop apparatus with a score of 17.750, beating Malaysia's Izzah Amzan and Amy Kwan, who scored 16.500 and 15.900 respectively.

Dela Pisa also claimed the bronze medal in the ball apparatus, scoring 15.600. Amzan bagged the gold with a score of 17.800, while Thailand's Nat Kulsawanong scored 16.300 for the silver.

The Filipina gymnast matched the feat in the club apparatus, scoring 16.100 for the bronze. Thailand's Benjaporn Limpanich took the gold with 17.150 while Malaysia's Koi Sie Yan settled for the silver with 16.900.

Meanwhile, Jean Caluscusin, Katrina Loretizo, Divina Sembrano, AJ Melgar, and Andrea Emperado also claimed the bronze in the group all-around category.
