PHL Blu Girls advance to softball finals

The Philippine Blu Girls marched to the finals of women's softball after clobbering Malaysia, 12-0, at the Southeast Asian Games on Friday.

Seeking their 10th gold medal, the perennial champions continued their dominance after scoring six runs in the first inning.

The team scored six more in the next two innings, and the game ended as the Malaysians failed to score at the top of the fourth.

Meanwhile, the Blu Boys dropped their semifinals assignment as they fell to Singapore, 4-3.

The Singaporeans scored four runs in the first three innings to shock the Filipinos, who could only score one run in the same period.

The Blu Boys took back a run in the fourth, but they could not follow up in the next two innings. They inched closer in the seventh with another run but Singapore's defense shut the door to end the game.
