Chino Tancontian snags gold in sambo

Chino Tancontian delivered another gold medal for the Philippines at the Southeast Asian Games sambo competition at the Angeles University Foundation Gymnasium in Pampanga Thursday.

Tancontian defeated Singapore's Gary Chow in the finals of the men's sport sampo -82kg for the win.

Earlier, mixed martial arts (MMA) star Mark Edward Striegl copped gold in the men's combat sambo -74kg event.

Patrick Paul Manicad and Niño Mondejar also added bronze in the men's combat sambo -82kg and -90kg categories, respectively.
