Pinoy fencing team dances to 'Manila' to celebrate first gold
The Philippine fencing team was in a dancing mood on Thursday after Jylyn Nicanor won the first gold medal for the team in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

A video posted by GMA News' JP Soriano showed the squad dancing to the tune of Manila, which was the song used during the opening ceremonies parade for the Philippine team.
Nicanor beat Indonesia's Diah Permatasari, 15-14, to emerge on top of the the women's individual sabre.

It has been a productive campaign for the Pinoy fencers in the Games, with Christian Jesther Concepcion and Hanniel Abella clinching silver medals, and Nathaniel Perez, Samantha Catantan, and Noelito Jose Jr. winning bronzes.
The dancing mood continued on Saturday after the Philippine team got the gold in the women's epee and the bronze in the men's foil. Philippine head coach Amatov Canlas showed the Singaporean men's foil team—who bagged the gold—how to dance to "Manila", the song popularized by the Hotdog band. —JST/KG, GMA News
