MMA star Mark Striegl wins SEA Games gold in sambo

Mark Edward Striegl won the gold medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games sambo competition at the Angeles University Foundation Gymnasium in Pampanga Thursday.

The mixed martial arts (MMA) star defeated Singapore's Singh Jaswant, 8-0, in the men's combat 74kg event to capture the gold medal.

Meanwhile, Patrick Paul Manicad and Niño Mondejar both settled for bronze in the men's combat -82kg and -90kg categories, respectively.
