Filipino Samuel German nabs silver in SEA Games modern pentathlon debut
The Philippines' bet Samuel German took home a silver medal on the first day of the 30th Southeast Asian Games modern pentathlon competition at the Subic Bay Boardwalk Thursday.
German registered 13:27.29 to claim silver in the men's beach laser individual category, while Indonesia's Muhammad Taufik captured gold after clocking 13:02.24.
Singaporean Marcus Wei Ong Ming pocketed bronze after a 13:24.28 output.
Modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport comprised of five different sports such as fencing, freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping and a final combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running.
Modern pentathlon is also seeing action in the biennial meet for the first time.
