The billiards legend dispatched Thailand's Thongchai Punyawee, 100-37, to barge into the semifinals of the 1-cushion carom event at the Southeast Asian Games on Wednesday at the Manila Hotel.
The country's billiards stars also advanced to the next round of their respective competitions.
Two-time SEA Games gold medalist Chezka Centeno beat Thailand's Waratthanun Sukrittanes, 7-3, in the quarterfinals of the women's 10-ball pool singles.
World pool champion Rubilen Amit also took care of business in the quarters, dispatching Vang Bui Xuan of Vietnam 7-1.
In snooker, meanwhile, Alvin Barbero and Jefrey Roda marched to the men's double semis with a 3-0 win over Thailand's Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon and Passakorn Suwannawat.
In men's 9-ball pool double, both pairs of Jeffrey Ignacio-Warren Kiamco and Carlo Biado-Johann Chua lost their semifinal matches.
Ignacio and Warren were narrowly edged by Myanmar's Aung Moe Thu and Phone Myint Kyaw, 9-8, while Biado and Chua were dominated 9-3 by Singapore's Toh Lian Han and Aloysius Yapp. —Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
