James Deiparine ends PHL's 10-year gold medal drought in swimming
The Philippines ended its 10-year gold medal drought in swimming at the Southeast Asian Games as James Deiparine snatched gold at the New Clark City Aquatic Center Wednesday.

Deiparine ruled the men's 100-meter breaststroke after clocking 1:01.46, breaking a 10-year SEA Games record.
Vietnam's Thanh Bao Pham placed second after finishing 1:01.92, while Singapore's Chien yin Khoo registered 1:01.98 for bronze.
Meanwhile, Remedy Rule clinched silver in the women's 200-meter butterfly event after registering 2:10.99. Singapore's Jing Wen Quah bagged gold after a 2:10.97 finish, while Vietnam's Thi My Thao Le notched bronze after a 2:12.70 output.
Philippine bet Jasmin Alkhaldi also claimed bronze after her 55.76 output in the women's 100-meter freestyle event. Singapore's Ting Wen Quah and Cherlyn Yeoh had a 1-2 finish after clocking 54.74 and 55.55 seconds, respectively.
