PHL gets gold, two silvers, and bronze in SEA Games lawn bowl


The national lawn bowl team added four more medals to the Philippines' medal haul in the 30th Southeast Asian Games on Monday in Subic.

Rodel Labayo and Angelo Morales defeated Thailand's representatives in the lawn ball pairs men's finals, 19-11 to bag the gold medal.

In the triples men's finals, Malaysia bested the trio of Elmer Abatayo, Hommer Mercado, and Christopher Dagpin, 14-8.

The Philippines captured another silver in the women's fours finals against Malaysia, 17-6, with the quartet of Marisa Baronda, Sharon Hauters, Hazel Jagonoy, and Rosita Bradborn playing for the national team.

Meanwhile, the pair of Nenita Tabiano and Vilma Greenlees eclipsed Thailand to capture the bronze, 16-15.

Lawn bowl action will continue on Tuesday.
