Carlos Yulo cops artistic gymnastics all-around gold medal

Carlos Yulo bagged the gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games men's artistic gymnastics all-around category at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Sunday.

The 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships gold medalist bested two Vietnamese gymnasts, who won silver and bronze.

After the event, Yulo took to Twitter to express his honor at being able to represent the country.

"Para sa lahat po ng kapwa ko pilipino Mabuhay po tayong lahat at patuloy po natin suportahan ang mga atletang pilipino. Mabuhay Tayong lahat," he wrote.

Yulo is the first ever Filipino gymnast to notch a gold medal in a world gymnastics event in October.

With his win in the world championships, he qualified to compete in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
