PHL books semis slot in women's football after storming Malaysia, 5-0


The Philippine women's national football team clinched a spot in the Southeast Asian Games semifinals after annihilating the Malaysian women's team, 5-0, Friday at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.

Isabel Bolden made three of the five goals of the team, handing the Philippines' first goal at the 25' minute. Bolden struck her second goal at the 42nd minute and made her third with a hat trick to end the first half.

Alisha del Campo needed only 14 minutes to make her goal after Bolden's first score.

Eva Madarang put the icing on the cake at the extra time.
