Filipina tennis player Alex Eala now 13th in juniors' world rankings

Filipina Alex Eala rose to the 13th spot in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) juniors' world tennis rankings last October 22.

After notching silver in the World Super Juniors' Tennis Championship-Osaka Mayor's Cup in Japan last October 14 to 20, Eala improved from 26th place to 13th in the world rankings.

She reached the 26th spot after her silver medal finish in the ITF Junior Grade A tournament in Cape Town, South Africa in September.

Eala, a Rafael Nadal Academy scholar, first made noise in the Philippines after her US Open Juniors' tournament, where she reached the second round of the main draw.

Currently, the juniors' tennis star is eyeing for a Southeast Asian (SEA) Games berth as the country hosts the biennial regional multi-sport event from November 30 to December 11. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/LA, GMA News
