JAKARTA - Filipino flyweight star Danny Kingad of Baguio City's Team Lakay passed his acid test against the hard-hitting Yuya Wakamatsu following a unanimous decision victory on the undercard of "ONE: Conquest of Heroes" Saturday night at Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia.
It was a calculated start from both Kingad and Wakamatsu as both fighters started the contest by throwing leg kicks at each other. Halfway through the opening round, Wakamatsu landed a hard right hand that dropped the Filipino fighter. Kingad scored two takedowns before the round ended and came close to securing a rear naked choke.

They fought on their feet in the second round with Kingad getting the better of the exchanges. As the Japanese fighter seemingly started to lose steam, Kingad picked up the pace and threw hard kicks and punches that managed to hurt Wakamatsu.
Kingad dictated the tempo in the third and final round as Wakamatsu mostly missed his strikes. The young Team Lakay fighter circled the cage and landed calculated counter-shots at the visually tired Wakamatsu as the fight ended with Kingad coming close yet again to executing a rear naked choke.
All three judges scored in favor of Kingad, who improved his record to 11-1, while Wakamatsu dropped to 10-3. — DVM, GMA News
