Pinoy Aquaman swims from Cebu to Bohol before English Channel trip
The man dubbed Pinoy Aquaman successfully crossed Argao, Cebu to Cabilao Island in Loon, Bohol as part of his preparation for a planned swim across the 560-kilometer English Channel in August.
Triathlete lawyer Ingemar Macarine, known as "Pinoy Aquaman", swam nonstop for eight hours covering at least 18 kilometers, despite the presence of jellyfish.
This is Macarine's last intense training session before embarking on the English Channel trip.
Macarine will be the first Filipino to attempt to cross the English Channel—also referred to as the "Mount Everest" of swimming.
Last May, Macarine successfully endured New York's freezing Hudson River as he swam from Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to Bannerman Island for one hour and 49 minutes, about 8.4 kilometers. —Rafeea Custodio/KG, GMA News
