Nate Diaz tapped to face Conor McGregor at UFC 196
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is now slated to face Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 196 following Rafael dos Anjos' decision to pull out of his title defense against the Irish mixed martial arts superstar.
Diaz, 30, last saw action in December when he defeated Michael Johnson by unanimous decision on UFC Fight Night. A fighter in the lightweight division (155 pounds), Diaz will instead square off against McGregor within the welterweight limit (170 pounds) due to the fight's late notice.
Both known for their brash personalities inside and outside the cage, fans and media alike are expecting both fighters to verbally go at each other on the build up of the fight.
McGregor and Diaz are set to duke it out on March 5 (March 6 PHL time) in Las Vegas.
