Filipinas fall to Kenya to cap Pink Ladies Week run

The Philippine national women's football team Filipinas fell to Kenya, 4-1, on Wednesday in the Pink Ladies Week in Turkiye.

The Filipinas trailed early as the first half ended with a 2-0 lead for Kenya.

However, Sarina Bolden almost salvaged the Philippines' run as it made the country's first goal in the match 20 minutes after the break.

Kenya had other things in mind, however, as Purity Alukwe responded minutes after, while Fasila Adhiambo sealed the win.

"I'm disappointed because, I felt like throughout the week, the girls responded well to the new system. We didn't execute that completely. There were a lot of individual errors, and errors that some of the girls know that they could be better at. Small errors, when you're trying to put together a game plan, can affect you. And against a team like Kenya, who are quick, physical, and have good individual players that play in good leagues around the world, they can punish you," said head coach Mark Torcaso.

The Philippines wrapped its campaign with a 1-1 record in the friendlies after winning against Jordan last Saturday.
