Philippine Men's National Football Team in King's Cup

The Philippine Men's National Football Team (PMNFT) will open its campaign in the King's Cup tournament on Friday at the Tinsulanon Stadium in Thailand.

Aside from the Philippines, three other teams will compete in the tournament: host Thailand, Syria, and Tajikistan.

Head coach Albert Capellas said the opening match against Thailand may be tough, but the squad will try to challenge its opponent as much as possible.

"From what I've scouted, they (Thailand) are a very good team with good players – dangerous players in front, and good organization in defense and in attack. I'm sure it'll be a tough game for us. We'll have to play a very good game to get a result," Capellas, who will call the shots for the Philippine team for the first time, said in a press conference.

"But I think we are coming with a very good squad. And we will do our best to make it as difficult as possible for them. I'm really looking forward to playing Thailand.”
