Philippines to host first FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup in 2025
The Philippines will hold the inaugural edition of the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup in 2025.

The event is part of FIFA's 2026-2029 Match Calendar which was aims to elevate the women's game.
“The Women’s International Match Calendar and the subsequent amendments to our regulations represent an important milestone in our pledge to take the women’s game to the next level by enhancing competitiveness across the world, particularly in those regions where women’s football is less developed and protecting the well-being of the players. Having agreed the calendar well in advance will be beneficial for planning purposes,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement released by FIFA.
According to the football body, a total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament, with three from the Asian Football Confederation, and one from the host country.
In UEFA's site, futsal is described as a "small-sided indoor football" with five players a side.
