NFL team Pittsburgh Steelers’ jet makes emergency landing in Kansas City

The Pittsburgh Steelers' charter flight home from Las Vegas made an emergency landing in Kansas City, Missouri early Monday morning.

Everyone on the plane is safe and the team is "making necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today," a team spokesman posted on social media.

The Airbus A330-900 landed at KCI Airport at 3:55 a.m. CT because of an oil pressure failure in one of the engines and fire trucks were at the scene, according to multiple Pittsburgh media outlets.

A replacement plane was expected to arrive in Kansas City at 9 a.m. CT to retrieve the 182 passengers, per reports.

The Steelers were returning to Pittsburgh after improving to 2-1 with a 23-18 victory against the Raiders on Sunday night. — Field Level Media/Reuters
