New Filipinas coach Mark Torcaso calls up 28 players ahead of Asian Games
Mark Torcaso did his first few acts as the newly-appointed Philippine women's football team head coach after calling up 28 names to be part of the training camp ahead of the Asian Games later this month.
Eight holdovers from the squad that represented the country in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup were retained as Hali Long, Kaiya Jota, Sofia Harrison, Anicka Castaneda, and Jaclyn Sawicki, as well as reserves Inna Palacios, Isabella Pasion, and Maya Alcantara lead the squad.
Camille Rodriguez, Alisha del Campo, Shela Cadag, Rocelle Mendaño, Charisa Lemoran, and Hazel Lustan, who played for the country in the past, were also part of the 28-woman pool.
Mykaella Abeto, Jonela Albiño, Sarahgen Tulabing, Angelica Teves, Dionesa Tolentin, Catherine Calatin, Zoe Hudson, Jade Anna Jalique, Natalie Oca, Demely Rollon, Isabella Bandoja, Lanie Ortillo, and Elaine Pimentel complete the pool.

Key players like Sarina Bolden, who delivered the Philippines' lone goal in the World Cup, and Olivia Mcdaniel are missing from the extended roster.
The Filipinas, who rose to world no. 44 recently, will set up training camp in Manila before heading to Hangzhou, China for the Asiad. They will take on South Korea, Myanmar, and Hong Kong in the group stages.
