Azkals down Nepal in friendly as Weiss returns as coach

The Philippine men's football team welcomed back Michael Weiss as Azkals head coach on a high note as they took down Nepal, 1-0, on Thursday in a FIFA International friendly match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Philippines and Nepal were both scoreless at halftime before Jarvey Gayoso scored the Azkals' first and only goal at the 49th minute.

Aside from Weiss' first game for the Azkals since he last coached the nationals in 2014, the match also saw Stephan Schrock back in uniform for the national team since his supposed final game back in January.

The Philippines will also face Chinese Taipei in a friendly on Monday at the same venue.
