Filipinas grouped with Australia, Chinese Taipei, Iran in second round of AFC Women's OQT
The Philippine women's football team on Thursday was drawn to Group A in the second round of the 2024 AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT).
The World Cup-bound Filipinas will join host country Australia, Chinese Taipei, and Iran in the second round of the OQT.
The Philippines previously swept Hong Kong, Pakistan, and Tajikistan in the first round of the qualifiers.
The second round has 12 teams divided into three groups of four. The best among each group, along with the best runner-up, will advance to the third round of the qualifiers.
The second round of the Olympic qualifiers will be held in Australia from October 23 to November 1.
Prior to this, the Filipinas will see action first in the Women's World Cup with their group stage games in New Zealand starting July 20.
