adidas launches new kits for World Cup-bound Filipinas
Clothing and lifestyle brand adidas, in partnership with the Philippine Football Federation, launched on Tuesday the new official kits which will be used by the Philippine national women's football team, the Filipinas, in the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The kits come in three colorways: blue, which stands for 'Sipag at Tiyaga' or perseverance, red for 'Alab ng Puso' or bravery, passion, and pride, and white for 'Bagong Yugto' or a new chapter in Philippine women's football with the Filipinas as first time participants to the World Cup.
A collection of fan merchandise with the Filipinas branding was also launched on that night.

Players such as sisters Olivia and Chandler Mcdaniel, who showcased the new kits on the ramp, said they wore adidas kits during the recently-held Southeast Asian Games and the kits had a nice feel to them.
"I love it, I think it's so easy to play in," Olivia McDaniel said. "It feels really well. I think it's gonna do really well when we play in New Zealand."
"They have a very nice feel, overall very comfy," said sister Chandler. "I think that it's really good that they're able to represent the flag [in the designs]."
adidas Philippines general manager Anthony Frangos said the partnership is great for the Filipinas and Philippine football.
"It's exciting to finally be able to share it to the public," adidas Philippines general manager Anthony Frangos said. "It's great for football for the Philippines and for the Filipinas."
PFF president Mariano Araneta, Jr., meanwhile, hopes the new kits will inspire the players to do more.
"I'm proud to be part of this celebration because adidas is a known brand. Giving the kit to the Philippines is something else, they believe in our women's football. I think these kits will inspire our players to play more, play better."
And his hope is for the women's team to topple some of the world's best in New Zealand.
"Tuloy-tuloy naman ang arangkada ng ating women's team. Hopefully, they can do some miracles in New Zealand."
("Our women's team will keep keep moving forward. Hopefully, they can do some miracles in New Zealand.")
The kits will be available for pre-selling starting on Independence Day, June 12.
The Filipinas, meanwhile, will battle in the World Cup in New Zealand starting July 20.
