Philippines settles for 2-2 draw against Timor-Leste in AFF U-23 campaign opener

The Philippines settled for a 2-2 draw against Timor-Leste to open their campaign in the 2022 AFF U-23 Championship held in Cambodia on Monday.

Ivan Ouano scored both goals for the Philippines, making them at the 45' and 62' mark.

Mouzinho Barreto de Lima scored the first goal for Timor-Leste after a penalty kick at the 6' mark, while Jaimito Soares gave his squad the 2-1 advantage at the 56' mark.

The U-23 booters will be back in action on Thursday when they play hosts Cambodia, and on Sunday when they face Brunei to wrap up the group stage.

The winner of Group A, where the Philippines is included, will advance to the semis against Group C which is composed of Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore.
