Kaya FC drubs Azkals Development Team in Copa Paulino Alcantara opener

Kaya Futbol Club defeated the Azkals Development Team, 2-0, to open the Philippine Football Federation's Copa Paulino Alcantara on Sunday at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

After a goalless first half, Daizo Horikoshi made the first goal of the tournament at the 54th minute of the match. Simone Rota made the second goal at the 70th  minute which sealed the win for Kaya.

Kaya will be back in action on Wednesday against the Mendiola Football Club.

Stallion Laguna and Dynamic Herb Cebu, the two teams in the other group, will also play on Wednesday. United City FC, which was supposedly grouped with Stallion and Dynamic Herb, pulled out from the tournament last October 31.

The top two teams of the two groups will advance to the next round of the tournament.
