Azkals name Terry Butcher as new head coach

On Thursday night, the Philippine national men's football team announced Terrence Ian "Terry" Butcher as the new head coach of the Philippine Azkals.

Butcher will replace Thomas Dooley, whose contract expired last March 31, just days after the national team booked a historic ticket to the AFC Asian Cup.

The 59-year old, who played for England during the 1980's, have managed teams since 1990. He last handled a team three years ago for the Newport County FC.

The Azkals also welcomed Scott Cooper as their new senior football advisor.
