Eumir Marcial, wife Princess open up about their separation

Filipino Olympic bronze medalist Eumir Marcial and his wife Princess opened up about the status of their relationship.

Princess revealed on Friday that she has parted ways with her husband and shared the instances leading to her decision.

"I caught Eumir having an affair in October last year. I, along with my sister, have personally caught them inside an Airbnb condominium in Pasay where we had them both arrested at a police station," Princess wrote in her post, adding that Eumir and the alleged mistress were detained for five days.

Princess said she still gave Eumir several chances after the incident.

"Despite some of my family’s strong disapproval, I still gave Eumir multiple chances to make amends with our marriage, putting into consideration all that we have gone through and the difficult things we have survived as a couple. As his wife, I felt then that I still owe Eumir the responsibility to forgive him so I permitted his release by signing an affidavit of desistance while his mistress signed the compromise agreement thinking Eumir would take this chance to correct his mistake and do better. But what I got instead was him further manipulating me," she added.

Princess also said that according to some of their mutual friends, Eumir and the mistress' relationship still continued.

"Currently, I’ve managed to maintain some correspondence with some of our mutual and trusted friends in Zamboanga City where they alluded that Eumir and his mistress have decided to live together. Apparently, he withdrew all our savings and used the money to construct a house for him and his mistress in Zamboanga. I also have friends who have personally seen them together," she added.

"For these obvious reasons, I had to go on separate ways with Eumir and severed all sources of communication with him after all the trauma, manipulation, emotional stress, physical abuse, and psychological torment that I had to endure these past few months and throughout our years of being together," said Princess.

Princess said she went public because she was concerned with her family's safety and to help other women facing similar situations.

" I don't think I can ever survive the pain, but my hope is that by speaking up, and in a way help other women who may have been suffering in silence, would give me the strength to continue in fighting for what is right in front of God who stood as a witness to our marriage. I’ll leave it up to God’s hands to see that true and righteous justice be served to Eumir and his mistress."

On Saturday, Eumir spoke to GMA Integrated News about Princess' post.

"Ang totoo noon, hindi totoo lahat ng mga sinabi niya sa akin," Eumir said.

"Dahil unang-una, kung sinasaktan ko siya, bakit siya magkakaroon ng pasa na ganoon pasa lang? Bakit siya magkaroon ng pasa sa paa? Dahil siya 'yung nagsasaktan sa akin, pinuprotektahan ko sa sarili ko na huwag niya ako saktan at natatamaan ko siya dahil sa pagprotekta ko sa aking sarili at nagkakaroon siya ng pasa. Do you think na dahil sa pananakit ko sa kanya na gusto pa rin niya sa akin mag-stay? Ginagawa niya nito sa akin ngayon dahil ayaw ko na makisama sa kanya dahil sa ugali niya."

Eumir also aired his side on the photo posted by Princess.

"Yung sa likod ng picture na 'yun, hindi talaga picture 'yun, video 'yun. Video 'yun na sinasaktan nila 'yung babae, dalawa sila ng kapatid niya na pilit kong pinuprotektahan. Walang nangyayari na pagtataksil dahil pumunta siya doon sa akin na hindi niya kami nahabol na nakapatong o may ginagawa ng bagay," he said.

Eumir also said he and Princess were already not on good terms even before this incident.

"Hindi na maayos yung relasyon niya [sa akin] dahil parati kami nag-aaway, parati niya ako sinasaktan. Alam ng mga kaibigan ko 'yan, alam ng pamilya niya, ng mga kapatid niya, alam nila lahat 'yan. Kung dumating kami sa punto ngayon, alam nila na mangyayari ito dahil sa ugali niya."

Eumir said the incident happened after the Olympics.

"Pagkatapos ng Olympics, hindi na kami nagsasamang dalawa, hindi na kami natutulog nang magkasama. Nakatira kami sa isang bahay, minsan ako lumalabas, pumupunta sa kaibigan ko," he added.

The Filipino boxer also said the woman in the posted photo is his friend.

"Isang beses na pinuntahan ko kasi taga-Zamboanga siya eh. Nagkita kami sa Makati na nagkita kami, taga-Zamboanga pala, nagkakilala, nag-usap. Actually nung nagsama kami, may kasama siyang kaibigan, nung nagsama may kasama din ako. Accidentally, nahulog niya 'yung wallet niya sa sasakyan," Eumir narrated.

"Hindi ko inasahan na nandun pala 'yung wallet niya, nahulog, maliit na wallet. Tinago ko, nilagay ko sa bag. Umuwi na siya ng Zamboanga noon eh. Nakita ng asawa ko 'yung wallet niya, doon nagsimula lahat, 'yung paghinala niya, ginawan niya na ng istorya na ganon, na may babae ako. Kinontak nila 'yung babae, inaway nila.

"'Yung babae na kababayan natin dito sa Zamboanga, kinausap sila at gusto kunin 'yung wallet, gusto lang ibalik 'yung wallet. So pumunta ng Maynila para kunin 'yung wallet. Nag-insist ako na tulungan ko siya, puntahan ko siya. Noong time na 'yun, nag-book siya ng hotel sa condo, pinuntahan ko siya doon.

Eumir insisted he just wanted to help in returning the said wallet and things went physical after that.

"Inabutan kami ng 12 p.m., hapon na. Pinuntahan ko siya, 'yun pala sinusundan na ako kasi may pagdududa na siya kasi hindi na maayos 'yung ano namin. Pinuntahan ko 'yung babae para tulungan siya na kunin 'yung wallet niya.

"Doon kami inabutan, doon kami na wala namang ginagawa, nag-uusap lang kami. Kung gusto nila malaman, kunin nila 'yung full video kung paano nila sinaktan 'yung babae. Hindi naman inabot na nakahubad o may ginagawa kami doon. Pumunta ako para tulungan ko siya kunin 'yung wallet and ganoon ang ginawa nila. Sinaktan nila, binugbog nila ang babae," he said.

Eumir said he was charged with concubinage.

"Hindi 'yun pasok sa concubinage kasi hindi naman kami naabutan na nakapatong, hindi naman kami may picture [o] malicious na video, hindi ko naman siya binahay. Ginawan nila ng paraan para i-file kami ng concubinage," said Eumir.

"Magpi-picture siya ng ganoon, magpo-post siya ng ganung picture na alam niya naman ang totoo na pinoprotektahan ko lang 'yung babae dahil sinasaktan nila."

The boxer said their relationship worsened after the incident, adding that he stayed in the police station for a few days.

"Lalo nang naging mas malala sa relasyon namin 'yun, talagang sabi ko ayaw ko, hindi na talaga puwede magsama itong relasyon na 'to dahil sobra na, sobra na 'yung nangyayari sa amin," Marcial said, adding that Princess changed her mind about the charges.

"Alam niyang 'di totoo, inurong niya 'yung kaso, kaso na-inquest na kami kaya nag-stay ako sa police station for four days," he said.

"Lalo ko naisip na 'yung asawa ko, hindi na kami okay dahil ni pagkain, ni damit, hindi naman ako dinalhan doon. Hindi ako inalala doon. Doon ko naramdaman na hindi na pagmamahal 'yung gusto niya lang sa akin."

Eumir also said she did not hurt Princess.

"Kung sinasaktan ko siya, do you think ganoon lang mangyayari sa kanya na mayroon siyang pasa sa paa, mayroon siyang ganito? Aksidente lang 'yung nangyari dahil pinoprotektahan ko 'yung sarili ko kaya nangyari 'yun," he said.

Eumir also spoke about the allegations about their savings and properties.

"'Yung joint account namin nasa kanya, hawak niya ngayon. Lahat ng titulo ng bahay namin sa Maynila, 'yung mga property namin, nasa kanya. 'Yung sinasabi niya na pinapatayuan ko ng bahay 'yung babae, hindi 'yun totoo," he said.

Princess and Eumir got married in 2021 after Marcial bagged the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
