Olympic medal tally

Here's the ongoing medal tally for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Philippine medal tally

In the country's history, the Philippines only had 14 medals since it joined in the Summer Games 100 years ago.

Teofilo Yldefonso claimed the country's first Olympic medal, a bronze for swimming back in 1928, while weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the country's first official gold medal.

Before Paris 2024, the Philippines already has a gold, five silvers, and eight bronze medals from the Summer Games.

Rewards

As mandated by Republic Act 10699 signed in 2015, medalists from the Philippines shall receive a cash incentive depending on their rankings.

  • Gold medal: P10,000,000
  • Silver medal: P5,000,000
  • Bronze medal: P2,000,000

The said cash incentives are for individual events only.

For team events with five members or less, they will also receive the same amount but will be divided depending on their composition. For teams with more than five members, each athlete will receive 25% of the cash incentives as indicated.

An athlete who will get an Olympic gold will also receive an Olympic Gold Medal of Valor from the Philippine Sports Commission.

Coaches of the medalists will also receive a cash incentive if they trained the athlete six months prior to the Games. The incentives will be equal to half of the athlete's cash prize and will be shared among the team if there are two or more coaches.

The Philippine Olympic Committee also pledged to give the gold medalist a house and lot, just like what they did to the four medalists back in Tokyo three years ago.

According to reports, a property development company also pledged to give a condominium unit to anyone who wins the gold medal.
