The 2024 Paris Olympics opened on early Saturday (Philippine time) with the Seine River being at the center of the activities.

The teams were riding boats as they passed through the Seine for the parade of nations.

Pop superstar Lady Gaga is among the performers of the colorful opening ceremony which also highlighted France's history, culture, and arts.

The Philippines has 22 athletes in the Paris Summer Games, with rower Joanie Delgaco and gymnast Carlos Yulo starting the country's campaign on Saturday.

The Paris Summer Games will run until August 11.
