EJ Obiena, Margielyn Didal lead Team Philippines in Asian Games opening ceremony

Filipino Olympians EJ Obiena and Margielyn Didal will lead the Philippine delegation in the parade of nations in the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. 

The Philippine Olympic Committee shared photos of the two, along with Team Philippines, prior to the ceremony to be held tonight.

Obiena is the Asian record holder for pole vault at 6.0 meters and was a silver medalist in the World Athletics Championships in Budapest last August.

Meanwhile, skateboarder Didal was one of the four gold medalists in the 2018 Asian Games.

Around 400 athletes from the Philippines will compete in the Asiad.
