Kiefer Ravena speaks up on breakup with Alyssa Valdez

Gilas Pilipinas player Kiefer Ravena on Friday broke his silence about his separation with former girlfriend Alyssa Valdez.

In a statement posted Friday on his Instagram stories and now-private Twitter account, Ravena said "It's time to put a halt" to the past few days which he described as "dirty and ugly."

"Alyssa released a statement in May regarding our separation last January," Ravena said, referring to Valdez' call to "avoid making up stories" regarding their breakup.

"We both agreed to move on peacefully and we respect each other's decisions."

Ravena, however, said that others have been dragged into the issue and "their reputations [were] stained because of unfounded assumptions and malicious accusations."

"Rumors that I am dating anyone right now are completely false and hurtful, especially to those who have been unwittingly dragged into this issue," said.

While Ravena admitted that he made mistakes in the past, he said he has learned from his mistakes and "these still do not give anybody the right to bash others."

"Let's all be kind to one another."

Valdez is currently playing for her Creamline Cool Smashers squad in the Premier Volleyball League while Ravena recently played for the national team in the FIBA Asia Cup.
