SEA Games gold winner Nualla to quit from work, continue dancing

After winning three gold medals for the country during the 30th Southeast Asian Games, a dance-sport athlete has decided to focus on dancing.

“Ang unang plan ko talaga is bumalik sa laboratory right after SEA Games.

"Maliban po sa magiging financially stable ako sa sayaw, eto talaga ang true love ko,” Ana Nualla, who won a gold medal together with his partner Sean Aranar, told GMA News Online in an email interview last December 5.

Nualla and Aranar won in the Open Standard, Single Dance Tango, and Single Dance Viennese, tallying 151.35, 30.15, and 30.10, respectively

“Ngayong after SEA Games, mas marami ng gustong mag-paturo sa amin. Mas marami rin trainings and competitions abroad na ini-invite kami,” the former chemist at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) added.

Nualla, who had worked for the government agency since 2014, has been into dance-sport since 2008.

—LBG, GMA News
