Brunei's 'hothlete' prince joins dad in bilateral meeting with Duterte

Taking a quick break from sports, SEA Games athlete and Brunei Prince Abdul Mateen Bolkiah on Saturday joined his father, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, in Malacañang for a bilateral meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte.

The 28-year-old prince is also a member of the Sultanate's polo team currently competing in the 30th Southeast Asian Games being hosted by the Philippines.

Mateen, in a report on 24 Oras, earlier said he was flattered when some Filipinos traveled all the way to Calatagan, Batangas to watch their match against the Philippine polo team on November 24.


The Philippine team bowed down to Brunei, 8-8.5.

Apart from winning in the polo event. the 28-year-old prince apparently has also won the hearts of many sporting fans, as he joins several SEA Games "hot athletes" or "hothletes"  gaining a following on social media. — Joahna Lei Casilao/MDM, GMA News
